A Pack failing to Encode
Hi
After years of trouble free use A Pack has started misbehaving on my system. I am trying to convert to AC3 an 88 minute aif file (16 bit, 48KHz) created in FCP 4.5HD. It has failed over and over again, with the following very useful message: 'encoding could not complete because an OS error of type 1 occurred' I have tried making a series of new aif files to no avail - A Pack fails to encode every time (although strangely, at different points in the encoding process). I am using the same settings I've always used (stereo - 224kbps - compression preset none, and everything else left at default). I've also tried a data rate of 192kbps, but this has made no difference. Has anybody else seen this and/or able to offer some advice please? I've done a Google search on this error message but it failed to turn anything up. I am running OSX 10.3.9 and A Pack 1.5.4. My thanks in advance for any light that can be shed. Simon |

Did you recently upgrade to Quicktime 7? This may have caused a conflict.
Apple added Dolby Digital encoding into Compressor 2 for FCP5/QT7 and abandoned A.Pack.
