iTunes Music to FCE

No matter what I try, the music is jumpy. Here is my method. I've burned a CD of a song from iTunes. Then I put the CD back into my computer and I don't imprt the CD to iTunes. I merely copy the files to a folder. I tried impoprting the file and dropping it in my timeline and the result is poppy and jumpy music. So I tried importing to Soundtrack and exporting as .aif, then importing the .aif to FCE. I still get the same results. It must be the file type and I'm just not figureing out what to do. Has anyone delt with this before? Help.

Go into iTunes>Preferences>Advanced and click on Importing. Change Import Using to AIFF Encoder. Click OK. Right (Control) click the music, and select "Convert Selection to AIFF" When its done right (or control) click the file and select "Show in Finder." It should be an AIFF file. Import that into FCE and the problem should be resolved.
