same timeline settings as footage, but no real time and exported files bigger??
I m editing 25P Pal dv footage, i ve set my timeline settings to match my footage, but i have this "orange bar" instead of green, and when i try to export my edit ( with same settings again ) my files are 10 times bigger that they should be, like 5 gigas for 4 minutes... of dv.
anyone can help me? |

Jeremie,
Check your RT setting is set to "safe". Orange is for unlimited. Double check your timeline settings are DV-PAL compressor. How did you export? You may have used the wrong export codec. Liam. |

well it seems that my timeline was in uncompressed 8 bits :)
I changed it to DV pal, realtime playback now ;) but let's imagine i just want to export an edited rush without any compression but with the size of dv format, do i have to choose DV pal compression in the export setting too? it seems to add more compression to the already dv pal of my timeline, and when i choose uncompressed 8 bits the files are way too big...so to sumarize : How to export dv footage edited from fcp without any other compression and in the size of normal dv footage? sorry for the crappy english |

Jeremie,
Don't worry about the crappy English, most people here in England can't speak it, let alone write it. To export a DV-PAL movie from a DV-PAL timeline simply go; File>Export>Quicktime Movie... Use 'Current settings' Don't check 'Recompress all frames'. Do check "Make self contained movie'. Hope that helps. Liam. |
