How do i save a single frame in FCP?
Can someone tell me how to save a single frame from the FCP timeline and convert it into a .tiff or other graphics file? I want to use it as background in a DVD menu in DVD Studio Pro. I searched the manual for 'frame grab' but could not find anything. Thanks.

Mark 'I' and 'O' on the frame you wish to save.
Click: File>Export>Using Quicktime Conversion. On the format tab (where it says quicktime movie) select still image from the drop down menu. You can export as a JPeg or PNG. You can then whack that file into Preview or a photo editor of your choice and convert it to a file tiff or whatever. JPeg will be fine for a DVD B/G. |

I use the same process as Liam, but as long as the play head is on the frame I want to export, I've never had to mark In and Out points... FYI
