HDV Web export from FCP
Hi everyone,
Just got my new Canon XH A1 and I am playing around with some settings for web compression, as much of the work I do is for web release. With SD I would use Quicktime Conversion and use custom settings that entailed h.264 with automatic keyframes, automatic bitrate and the current frame rate. While trying to export HDV footage with Quicktime Conversion I am running into some problems. Specifically, this frame issue that makes the picture jump up and down. Please see what I am talking about here: http://www.magic-mike.net/videos/a1test-3.mov When I export anything bigger than 338x190 it does this weird jumpy thing. However, sometimes it plays fine and sometimes it doesn't. I've tried choosing the de-interlace option and numerous combinations of video sizes, but they all have this issue except for 338x190. If you have any ideas I would love to hear them, as I was hoping to be uploading videos with a width of around 500. Thanks |

Mike,
It plays fine on my machine. H264 can stutter on playback if the computer the file it is being played on is not up to spec or it's being played over a network- usually a RAM/processor issue, I think. My laptop doesn't like playing large H264's off the desktop but they're fine from an external drive. |
