Fcp 4.5 at DVinfo.net

I have the FCP 4.5 version and a new intel based Mac Pro (2x 2.66Ghz). Does anyone know of support issues here? It being a Mac program designed before intel Mac and all. I know that Avid and intel Macs hadn't been sorted out even as a few weeks ago.

Hi Barret and welcome to DVinfo. I doubt that FCP 4.5 will run on your Intel machine. You would have to run it under Rosetta which probably can't give you the performance needed. For that matter, I'm not sure that the installer would even work. And even if you could get it to work, Apple is not going to support it.

You will probably want to upgrade to Final Cut Studio which runs natively on your machine and also includes Motion, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro and Compressor. Not a bad deal for $200: http://www.apple.com/universal/crossgrade/
