I navigated to the link you included in your last post. The device is considerably more sophisticated than the one I had mentioned (a simple matching transformer) but it would seem to have the necessary qualifications and then some.

thanks Ronald, it was just that AJA said that I should go for this which is way more expensive than what I found.

It's $180 in the US so it's probably at least £140 over here. I don't doubt it's a good product but do you reckon it's overkill and that my choice would do the same job for a fraction of the price? sorry for all the questions! you've been very helpful.
