FCP 5.1.2 crashes everytime I try to capture DV PAL
I've tried capturing DV PAL from my JVC GY-HD100 and also on a Canon HV10, and everytime I tried, it tried to locate VTR and then would crash, has anybody else had this problem? I'm running FCP 5.1.2 on my Powerbook G4 1.7Ghz

I am having the same issue, it seems. I have 3 cams (all GL1). I can capture from tapes from 2 of the cams fine, but there's one cam that does this. Every time I go to capture FCP crashes when the capture stops (searching for timecode, or if I hit escape to stop).
I've got 4 miniDV cameras total - the seemingly bad tapes won't capture into FCP from any of the cams thought they all give different results. From one of the cameras it looks like it's capturing fine but as soon as the capturing is done it give me "Final Cut Pro was unable to read the media" and then it crashes. I'm capturing on an iMac, NTSC format.
