Can't run Final Cut Pro in another account...
I've recently bought and set up a Mac Pro for NLE work with FCP, and have been using it fine when running on my account on the Mac (the one it was installed in in the first place). My wife would like to use FCP when logged into her account on the Mac Pro, but the program just vaporizes after displaying the splash screen, with no error message. Does anyone have any suggestions about what might be happening (a permissions issue? I've tried to make all FCP project/capture directories world read/write).
Thanks Greg |

it sounds like, for some reason, the FCP preference files in your wife's account are corrupted. there are a couple of simple and free little helper apps (either FCP Rescue or FCP Attic) which you can download and use to delete the old preferences, which will cause FCP to write new (hopefully) good ones.
