Record sd playout from hd timeline
Hey guys,
We have a graded DVC Pro HD timeline from which and want to record straight to DVD with a DVD recorder. We want to bypass excessive time in compressing to an SD file to encode in DVD Studio Pro, but want to record straight off the timeline. Our monitor is recieving the component SD image straight from the Balckmagic card but then the DVD recorder is scrambling the composite signal we send from the monitor so we can't get it to record the image on the monitor. We think it must be an anti-piracy component in the DVD Recorder. Any ideas? Thanks |

it seems more likely that your monitor is not converting the SDI to composite correctly ... does your Blackmagic card have a direct composite output or have you any other equipment that can give a composite output from an SDI input?

DVD recorder with component inputs?
We've solved that problem however the real time down convert makes the image look terrible. All the highlights are washed out, we figure out it was because our DVD recorder only has composite in. Dows anyone know a good DVD recorder with component inputs?

The Panasonic DMR-A80H DVD recorder works well. It has a hard drive too so you can record once and make lots of copies.
