FCP Exporting

I've gone through about 15 different export options to get the filesize down on a few of my files to display online, but the size is either too big in the end, or the file just looks like I shot it with a Hi8. What is the best setting for making files for the internet?

Do you have any samples? Please help.

What do you know about your audience? What's their connection speed? How likely are they to have the latest codecs and plug ins? There is no right answer for this, but there are a lot of choices you can tweak depending on what's important.

This thread has some good advice http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=47545 but it's geared toward a very specific audience.

You could also poke around the DVD and Web delivery area.
