Final Cut Pro shuts down on startup
I figured it out - I threw away the Preference file!
Hi Gang, Just finished cutting a feature film with FCP on MACBOOK PRO and it worked flawlessly. The footage is JVC HDV converted to AIC's. I was going to make some last minute adjustments to the cut and when I open FCP it goes through the motions and then just goes away. I've reinstalled it - twice. The only that I made the last time it opened was the scratch disks. Any thoughts? It seems that all the other studio programs are working well. Thanks, Tom Chaney |

Do you have any motion files in the project that have been moved?

Warren,
Thanks, I threw away the preference file and was able to get in. Something somehow got changed, and yes, it could have been motion related. Thanks for the quick repsonse. Best Regards, Tom Chaney |

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner, throwing away preferences is one of the first troubleshooting steps in the Apple world. I like to move them to the desktop in case it's not the problem (then I can put them back and not have to reset all my preferences).
