16:9 output from FCP 5 to QT
Hi,
I have a project that was shot letterboxed 16:9 and brought into FCP as a 4:3 letterboxed file. Now I want to output it as a web-compressed 16:9 (cropped) file, in other words not a letterboxed 4:3. This will end up on .mac. I've tried a few different techniques including the one in the FCP manual but it's not working. Can someone walk me through the steps? thanks...

Go into Compressor, pick the codec you want and then pick the "Geometry" tab. At this point you can type the numbers in or adjust the cropping in the preview window by dragging the mouse. You may have to save the setting first depending on the version of Compressor.
