60 minutes minidv tape
Hello everybody ,
please helpme out here .... i`m trying to record a 55 minutes program on a 60 minutes minidv tape using fcp and and sony dsr-11 , odd enough the tape wont hold that much it takes only 41 minutes knowing that i`ve shot like 60 minutes with the same tape using my camera ,,,is it that much different for a camera and vtr ? if so what is the best bet to record this program using a minidv tape? any input would be appreciated . thanx |

Dear Sid,
It appears that your DSR-11 is set to record in DVCAM mode instead of DV mode. I do not have a DSR-11 but there must be an option or switch somewhere to control the recording mode. DVCAM mode runs the tape at a higher speed, thus you get fewer minutes on a "60 Minute" tape. If your "DVCAM" light, on the front panel is on, you will not get 60 minutes on a 60 minute tape.
