Closed captioning
I searched the forums and didn't really find anything that addressed my question specifically so here goes. Sorry in advance if I'm not putting this in the right place.
I produce a show for my church and we are going on a new network in our area that requires closed captioning. For the time being, we are outsourcing this work but would like to do it in house. What are the best options? For broadcast, are there any NLE style software apps that do closed captioning? I found Mac Caption but that app doesn't seem as appealing because of the price. I think we could by CC hardware for the cost of their software. Thanks. |

For anyone who is wondering, I ended up using a software app called Mac Caption. It is pricy (6,000) but the beauty of it is that all of the captioning is done digitally so there isn't any quality loss. You just have the video transcribed, import the QT movie and the text file of the transcription, then click a button when you hear the first word of a caption. The app makes a copy of the movie with the captions and then you can print to video as normal. I'm very happy with the results.
