Out of sync
I am using FCP 5.1 to edit material shot on DV. Recently, on some of my edits, the sound and picture appear out of sync on playback, by as much as 3 frames. When I match frame and play that back, no problem. Only the edit does it, not the original shot. Naturally, I have checked the sync within the edit - it's perfect! Any thoughts, fellow users? Ta.

How are you viewing your edit? The reason I ask is because if you are monitoring your video on an external monitor and your audio from your computer speakers they will be out of sync. You have to monitor audio and video from the same place, computer or external device.

I have experienced this before with a hard drive starting to go out, or a computer with major permissions problems. I would start with that if Nates solution doesnt solve it.

Go to view, audio playback and make sure you have the audio follows video option selected. I've had the same thing happen.
