NTSC color space--images in gamut

Hi all,

We are making title slides and importing stills from Photoshop and I am trying to find info on the numbers for NTSC color space. We can use our info pallette for RGB or CMYK numbers. As an example 255 is white and 0 is 100% black. In the past I have been okay with using a white with about 5% black added and a black of about 90%, but if I can get the exact numbers where they move out of gamut that would be great.

All help is appreciated !

Jeff

Easy: just use the NTSC color space in Photoshop.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I did purposely throw colors out of gamut and then apply the filter, but saw no change in the info pallette numbers. Is there a special method to using the filter ?

You have to start working the color space when you create the document. Once your document's color space is set to NTSC, there is nothing you can do to exceed the NTSC gamut; oversaturated colors get clipped (pushed into line, if you will).
