Monitoring HD in SD
I know, I know, it's not the most ideal solution... but we're working on a church budget here.
We looking at getting two HVX200s in the near future and doing all of our non-live acquisition in HD both for future proofing-and for the bonus we get in a higher-rez acquisition (not to mention variable frame rates, true 16x9, etc.), however everyone has really nice Sony CRT monitors that we're using to edit with now. They are, of course, standard definition... What are our monitoring options? Is there anyway to monitor the output of a DVCPRO HD timeline on an SD monitor? Is our best bet (without buying gobs of new equipment) to use a the secondary display method and hook up an extra LCD panel? I know with DVCPRO HD (at least I think I know), the old firewire to the deck/camera method should still work... but will the HVX send an SD signal out it's components in that case? Thanks for all the help guys! |
