Capture size limit
I am trying to do a capture now to capture the entire tape, but have FCP break it into 4.3gb chunks so that they can be burned onto DVDs. When I attempt to use 'Limit Capture Segment Size' to do this, only the first clip works, and the others are corrupt ('Untitled-av-002' for example). Any tips on how to make this work?

Capture the whole tape and break it up into smaller clips in Quicktime theres like and "in and out" type of thing in Quicktime on the slider and you can export just the segment you have within that lil "in and out" segment....thats just one off the top of my head.....the other way would be to still capture the whole tape and then break up the clip in FCP and export each sequence. You should be able to figure out how long 4.3GB chunks are based on the way you were doing the capture now feature and it would crash when FCP tried to capture the next clip.
hope this gives you some ideas |

And those files aren't corrupt. They are tied together. While you will have one clip in FCP, the actual media is broken into parts. You cannot play the clip without all thrr parts. They aren't stand alone clips, they are, as I said, tied to the other sections.
