How big is too big for FCP 5.0.4 projec files?

So I'm finishing up work on a feature in DVCPRO HD and FCP is starting to act funky even after trashing prefs, restarts and the sort. My current project file is 49 megs big, which I assume is too large but at what size does it start becoming a problem, 30 megs? 20 megs? and what is the easiest way to make the project file smaller? Just drag half of my scene bins to a seperate project? Thanks guys...

Specs:
fcp 5.0.4
OSX 10.4.6
Dual core G5 2.3
2.5 gigs of ram
Graid 1 terabyte FW800 drive for video / sfx / music files

Meh, problem solved. I just copied and pasted my major bins into a new project and now that one is only 18 megs - it runs smooth as silk. But I wonder where the threshold is?

I try to keep mine under 30MB.

I have two projects for my current show. One is for the FOOTAGE, and the other for the CUTS. This way the Cuts project remains about 20MB (I duplicate it and work on the new one when I make changes), and the footage, while 45MB, doesn't get any bigger.

Thanks so much Shane. I just finished this feature film which was shot on an HVX and your website for P2 workflow really was a huge help! Thanks!
