what problem recapturing in HDV after a DV editing ?
hello all
I intend to edit a project in DV, using the Z1 camera HDV/DV downconversion to be able to make the editing of this documentary film on my G4, using FCP HD4.5 I will need to make a HDV editing later on. Can I use the timeline of the DV project to recapture in HDV and FCP 5 later on a much faster machine ? Has anyone tried this type of situation ? What kind of problems would I encounter ? TC shift or inaccuracy ? Thank you in advance Hervé

You shouldn't have any problems recapturing your timeine to HDV. The timecode remains the same and all you'll have to do is drop your original timeline in a new HDV timeline and then capture. However, make sure you capture HDV which allows timecode and don't capture with the Apple Intermediary Codec(AIC) which converts the HDV to the more stable AIC codec but doesn't allow timecode and won't allow you to do a recapture. It's easy to get confused so just make sure you use HDV capture.
