Newbie Final Cut Studio Questions at DVinfo.net

Hi all,

I've come from a PC/Canopus background and I now have a Quad G5 Powermac and a few extras. Here are my issues so far:

1. - Importing MPEG-1 video does not include audio ? Have I done something wrong ?

2. - I can't export to .swf do I need a plug-in for this ? (can do .fla)

3. - The MAIN issue, Qmaster and clusters. One of the main reasons I came to Mac is for clustering and Final Cut. I have bought 5 G4 Powermacs to use in the cluster. I can get the cluster working okay, but when I send video to it I get "No Codec Installed" error (or something like that) I can't install FCP on the others as some are not upto spec. The few files I have converted did convert quickly.

I mainly export to .m2v so what do I need to install on the G4 cluster Macs ?

Any help would be great :-)

I forgot to add.

I do alot of video work during the day and want to export it at night. When I get up alot of it has failed due to a codec issue. Really frustrating.

The G4's have Panther 10.3.9 installed on them and I've updated EVERYTHING via the updater.
