powerbook lacie setup

I currently need extra storage space for my powerbook and lacie 400gig setup.

Problem is client wont pay extra money to buy a single lacie... So instead I've opt for them to buy an internal harddrive that will go inside my windows box so I can at least dump all their footage and have access for later.

Question is...

Would a 300gig 8mb cache seagate be good

vs.

A 250 gig Western Digital 16mb cache (cheapest)
or
A 300 gig Maxtor 16mb (bigger and cheap)

I was given $120.00 to buy a box of minidv tapes and the internal drive.

Any number of places sell Firewire enclosures for hardives. I would buy one for the drive so that it would be transportable.
