Which card do I need?
Our company is needing to get a card that will capture HD via HD SDI and component HD as well as SD component. Which card is the right one for us? Is it a Kona LH? Or should we look into getting a Kona2 (we edit on dual 2.0 G5's) with some type of component to SDI converter?
I'm almost ready to bite on the LH, but it's lower price tag has me a bit spooked. Am I losing too many features if I go with the LH over the Kona2? Is there something better on the market that would meet our needs? |

The LH is definately the way to go. Kona 2/3 does not offer the connectivity you need, and the additional cost is primarily for dual-link SDI which it sounds like you do not need. The dual link is for 4:4:4 HD which is not widely used yet and is only fully realized through burning back to film and exotic tape formats like HDCam SR.
