Storage Question

Okay, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but I'll give it a shot ...

I own a G5, shooting with an HVX and I need more storage. I've already got a Kona Card in the second PCI-X slot, and an eSATA (for a 500 MB G-Tech G-SATA drive) in the 4th slot.

The questions ... can I add another eSATA card to the third slot, effectively filling all my slots and:

1.) Will it work?
2.) Will it kill performance at all?

I was under the impression that the third and fourth slots were 100 Mhz and that they shared bandwith.

I may have my acronyms and "hz" mixed up but I hope you guys can shed some light here. I need to boost my storate by about a terabyte but I don't have the cash for BIG storage.

Thanks!

1. Yes.
2. No.

A 100 MHz 64 bit PCI-X bus can theoretically transfer 800 MB per second. You won't find 2 drive systems in your price leage who can give that kind of throughput combined, even if both slots are on the same bus.

It's a little strange you haven't got any ports left on your first SATA adapter.
