Unable to set same settings for sequence & Capture for HDV 1080i50

Hi Everyone,
I am having a problem with my FCP sequence set up.
I followed the standard settings for 1080i 50 HDV:

Sequence Preset: HDV-1080i50
Capture Preset: HDV
Device Control Preset: Sony HDV 1080i50 FireWire
Video Playback: None
Audio Playback: Default

It captured everything fine, but I find myself rendering all the time when I work with the clips on the sequence.

There must be a way where I can set the sequence setting to match my capture settings.

Any ideas?

Alen,

I'm not sure what the problem is. If you chose the "HDV -1080i50" Easy setup, then the capture setting and sequence setting are automatically set to be exactly the same. There should be no rendering except for Mpeg2 "Constant Frames" to fill in the gaps when you cut into a GOP.

I would suggest setting your bin to show columns for everything from frame size to pixel aspect and then visually compare a clip's settings with the sequence settings. It is usually pretty easy to flag an inconsistency this way and then change it.

Thanks Tim.
I have never set my bins to show columns before, but I'll try and see if I can find any inconsistency between the capture settings and sequence setting.
I'll keep you posted.
Alen.

Also remember, when you choose a new "easy setup" it only affects new sequences that you create, and doesn't change any existing sequences. Choose the 1080i50 easy setup, then create a new project. The capture and sequence settings for everything in that project should then be the same.
