more ram
hi to all im getting ready to buy a G5 quad and i know the more ram you have the better off you are. but will i see the differance beteen 2 and 4 gigs

On a PC, I would say probably not, but with OSX on the mac, it can be a RAM hog sometimes. If you can afford it, I would recommend the 4GB, especially if you're going to be editing using FCP, Soundtrack and their titler program open all at once. ...but the 2GB would perform just as well. But yes, you are correct is saying the more the better

I guess it depends on what you do. I have a dual 2.5 G5 and 2.5GB RAM, and things seem to work well. See the last paragraph of this post for how to determine if your system needs more RAM: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showpost....73&postcount=8
