Capture DV from Canon XL2 via FW
I'm having some issues with my settings which I can't figure out what's going on. Not too long ago I was able to just plug the XL2 to my G5 and connect to it right away. Now when I go to capture it tells me "No Communication" but when I play the video you can hear the audio but no picture. Help!

Have you upgraded QuickTime or your OS recently? This sounds an awful lot like what happened to my G5s and many others with the QT7 upgrade.

Well I didn't pay attention to that. But I do have 10.4.3 and QT 7.0.3. Dayam...I hope its not the OS, if not Apple better hurry up and get the 10.4.4 out.

There are fixes for QT7. Check out the Apple forums. I think the sticky is called "The Solution" or something similar. Basically you have to delete the QT7 package and reinstall it from a disk image instead of the Software Update. But if it's 10.4.3 then you might be out of luck. I wish I had never installed that.
