Help importing HDV into FCP 5
I've just shot a bunch of tapes in HDV 1080i format and want to import it into FCP 5. I'm not sure what settings I need to use to import it. I've successfully imported a few scenes using the HDV easy setup but when I drop a clip into the timeline its red above it. Is this normal? Do I need to be setting something else differently? Please help.

Your capture and sequence settings have to match exactly in order for clips to not require rendering when brought into the timeline.

Do you know what my settings should be? I've been able to import downconverted stuff into FCP so I've got DV stuff imported from my HDV master ok.
I'm trying to now play around with imported HDV stuff from my HDV master but I'm unsure on what my settings need to be to properly import the video without having to render once I drop it into the timeline. Anyone with suggestions on what my settings should be? |
