Need help! How to capture clip by clip in FCP
I am trying to do batch capture and record each time break on the tape but FCP keeps capturing the whole tape not each clip I have. Example, this is a tape from music video in each i need to edit clip by clip or frame by frame. I need FCP to be able to log each clip without me having to go through all the footage and mark in/out points. For example I was...well kinda still a Vegas user but trying to convert to FCP but Vegas would allow you to capture all and it will log each clip automatically. Is this possible with FCP?

Yes - capture the whole tape (or as much of it as covers the material you want) and then highlight the captured result, and use Mark:DV Start/Stop Detect, and FCP will split it up into sub-clips for you at timecode breaks.
