scratch disk problem in FCP

hi everybody,
i've got this problem with FCP 5.0.2 on a G5 dp 2,3Ghz 4Gb ram :
i've choosen my external Lacie d2 250Gb ( 200free ) as scratch disk for capturing & rendering ( but left autosaves etc...on MAC internal HD ) but, as i look for the clip just captured in the finder.....i find it in the trash !
If i put back the scratch disk as by default on the internal Mac HD, everything goes right.

Can anybody help me ?
