Playback Issues - DeckLink HD Pro
I’m having issues with dropped frames when editing in FCP. I can turn the dropped frame warning off, but I still hear constant audio pops from when a frame is dropped, and this makes it very difficult to work. Having other applications open definitely makes it worse, but often the problem will occur when I have nothing open. Restarting my machine will improve the situation, but only for an hour or so.
I’m pretty sure my Blackmagic hardware is the issue, because when I turn off black magic monitoring, the problem goes away. I’ve tried updating the drivers but this did not clear up the problem. Any suggestions? Software: MacOSX v10.7.5 (Lion) Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 9.7.1 FCP 7.03 Hardware: -Processor 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon -Memory 10 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM -Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB -Blackmagic DeckLink HD Pro (DL) -Hard Drive Type: CalDigit HDOne Settings: Source Format ProRes (HQ), 1920x1080, 23.98 Sequence Settings Same as above Dynamic frame rate and video quality |

Re: Playback Issues - DeckLink HD Pro
Mike I had problems with my Decklink Card on first install. Something didn't take and the downconvert looked awful while HD was great. Total software reinstall and all of the sudden it looked great and has been fine since. Maybe you should try again. I also had a hardware problem using the wrong style For Blackmagic audio cables which gave me audio agita. Maybe this is what you are hearing. Blackmagic likes properly wired Stereo 1/4 Phone for outputs no Mono 1/4 Phone even though each channel is on separate cables.
