eSata media drives into USB3.0?

I'm trying to figure out how to set up a new macbook Pro ( NON RETINA) for esata media drives and to download SxS cards.

question 1

Is it stable to run an eSATA media drives into the Newer Tech eSATAS to USB 3.0 adapters (@$30) and then run those into a USB3 hub like a D Link? The purpose of the hub would be to not monopolize the only 2 USB ports I'll have on the computer.
I figure the other ports would have stuff like printer, mouse, scanner etc. Could I run 2 eSATA drives through the USB 3.0 hub?

Question #2 Does the Sony SxS card reader work on Mountain Lion in the latest computers?
