AUDIO SYNC PROBLEM WITH 23,98 fps FOOTAGE
Hello everybody,
we have a problem with the audio synchronization in Final Cut Pro 7. We filmed with a Panasonic P2 / 23,98 fps / DVSPRO HD 720p60 / ... and the sound was recorded separately. now the problem is that on the FCP7 timeline set to 23,98 fps / DVCPRO HD 720p60, I synchronized the sound in the beginning of a about 40 minute clip and the sound desynchronizes the more the clip goes forward. |

Re: AUDIO SYNC PROBLEM WITH 23,98 fps FOOTAGE
Is the audio MP3 recorded at 44.1KHz? If so, use Compressor (or QuickTimePro) to convert it to 48KHz AIFF and try again.
FCP HATES MP3s and 44.1 audio.

Re: AUDIO SYNC PROBLEM WITH 23,98 fps FOOTAGE
Hi Shaun,
thanks for your reply... the sound was actually recorded at 48Khz WAV... Although usually I like to investigate on these technical issues, we didn't have time to find the solution in FCP7 (we needed a first draft for the client very quickly) so I edited it in Premier where this problem didn't occur... I read discussions about the 23,98 pulldown and the problem must lay somewhere in the way FCP handles it. I will try to find out when I have more time. meanwhile I will edit the project in Media Composer that doesn't have this issue neither. Many thanks, Gilles from Paris |
