Editing .m2t files (from PC) in FCP
I shot video for a guy on the other side of the country, transferred it via FTP, and he can't open it in FCP.
The footage is 720P30 shot with a JVC GY-HD100 to a Firestore CF card recorder, transferred to my PC - it is the exact same format I get if I capture an HDV tape to PC. The FCP editor states that his Mac does not play the files, although recognizes them as QT files (go figure)... they open as text file. I know FCP would re-wrap them to QT on capture, but can't FCP do the same with already captured files? Is this because .m2t is transport stream? Will passing .m2t through MPEG Streamclip and saving it as .mpg make them play in FCP? Only ClipWrap can do it? Help appreciated, |

They should use MPEGStreamclip to convert to a ProRes QuickTime file.
