General FCP 7/Lion questions
I've done very little editing since retiring my old G5 and FCP 5.
Now I've got a late 2008 MBP with FCP X loaded on it and I have to say Apple really ruined that program with that version. It was useless to me. I want to buy Final Cut Studio 3 and load it on this laptop. I'm running the Lion OS. Is Lion compatible with FCP 7? Where can I buy a legit version of FCS 3? Thanks for any help guys and gals!

Re: General FCP 7/Lion questions
You can not buy a new copy of FCS3, only used copies. If you can find one, it works fine in Lion.
FCPX is a very different program and there are numerous resources on the web, free and pay, that can help you really use the program to it's fullest. Larry Jordan's Edit Smarter site is very good, here's an example: Larry Jordan - FCP X Compound Clip Secrets | The Best Training in Final Cut Pro

Re: General FCP 7/Lion questions
Thanks, William. I've found some copies of the Academic Version on eBay but no luck locally.
I've leaned on a lot of resources over the years, Larry Jordan, Lynda, Ken Stone and last but certainly not least, DVinfo.net.
