FCP 6.06 codec question
Hi everyone:
A colleague of mine is interested in combining footage from the Sony NX5U camera with his canon mini dv hd camcorder. He asks: How would the (NX5U's) codec work with FCP 6.06? And combined with footage shot on a canon mini dv hd camcorder with mpeg-2 apple intermediate codec? I'm not sure how to answer the question, and appreciate any help you could offer. Thanks! Robert |

Re: FCP 6.06 codec question
I think he needs to transcode AVCHD footage from NX5U to either ProRes 422 or DVCProHD to get any decent performance from FCP 6.
