End Credit Formatting
Anyone know how to do credits like this in FCP?
http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...ow/credits.jpg I can do the small video box on the left hand side no problem, but I can't seem to get the formatting on the text correct. |

Re: End Credit Formatting
Hey Justin, thanks for the reply. Is scrolling a jpeg what people do? I thought it might be done in after effects etc

Re: End Credit Formatting
The few credits I've done, Ive usually built the credits in photoshop when running FCP and just imported the final version in PNG to allow transparency. Then you can always mask/clip it, and feather it depending on where you want your credits to start.
When I edit on a box with premiere I would just round trip it to AE to allow an easy edit if anything changes before I output. |

Re: End Credit Formatting
Just do it in Motion and drop it in the FCP timeline. This technique lets you format the scredits in Text Edit or your favorite RTF editor:

Re: End Credit Formatting
Thanks Les I will check that out. I think going to try the PhotoShop / After Effects route and see how it goes.

Re: End Credit Formatting
This is extremely easy to do within FCP using the Scrolling Text generator.
Just put a "*" between the credit and the name to create the gutter gap. You can adjust the gap width with the controls in Scrolling Text.

Re: End Credit Formatting
Whoa, thanks Tim! I had no idea about using "*" for the gutter gap.
