motion - export to compressor does not conform to project range
Hi. I'm very new to motion (whichever version is part of FCS2), and getting to know the basics of it. Run into a problem trying to export a project recently. I want to use "export using compressor", because it allows me to use the x264 codec which does NOT show up when I try to export directly from motion. Anyway, even though I have a project in and out, (even checked under edit/project properties, and the out is where I want it), for some reason when I export using compressor, the resultant file is much longer than it's supposed to be. It's like it ignores the out point in the timeline and keeps going for a while. If I export directly from motion, and check "limit to play range" or whatever that option is, it works as it's supposed to. Guess I don't get why the compressor option ignores the out?

Re: motion - export to compressor does not conform to project range
Try exporting to a frame based codec like ProRes and see if the same problem occurs. If not, it means that Motion and non-Apple codecs like x264 don't play well together.
