split screen transition

Hello.

I'm trying but I can't get this to work...so I come to you all.

Doing some split screen in FCP...want to use a black bar to move as a transition where it reveal a clip under...I'm using a travel matte lumma with a black bar..while I can move the matte and the reveal happens...but I don't keep the black bar it has..it shows a clip thats is another track below.

Is it clear? how can I achieve this? please help.

Thanks

I though I could have a separate black bar an animate to follow the motion of the matte...but I'm thinking there most be an easier way.

Re: split screen transition

I'm a little hazy on what you describe, but to me, it sounds like you can easily build this effect just keyframing the Crop controls in the Motion tab.
