Encoding to WMV High Def from Final Cut 5
Hey guys I am looking to encode to WMV HD from final cut. I used to do this by encoding the video into an AVI in codex DV/DVCPRO NTSC. That file compression makes a perfect quality DV that I can bring into WME and encode to what I wish. The problem is I need to do this in HD now. I have a PC and Mac networked. What do you guys recommend?

You should be able to do the same thing you have been. Either create an avi or mov and encode with window media encoder 9. There is more information at this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...toHDsixty.aspx For those without access to a windows computer, flip4mac studiopro can encode HD windows media files directly from FCP and Compressor. Only problem is it costs $179 while the Windows media encoder is a free download. |

The default settings should be fine. Did you try them? Did they work? And did you read the whole page? At the bottom he goes into a detailed description of all of the settings and what they mean. If that doesn't help you, I don't think there's anything else that could. Perhaps if you post details about your project and the reasons you want to encode HD WMV I may be able to offer more substantial assistance. Otherwise, you're probably SOL.
