Making backup of movie in (HD)High Def in Final Cut 5.
Hey guys I am looking to save a perfect quality of my new film shoot on the Z1U HD camera. I have been editing in final cut and need the steps and settings for a backup copy of the movie. What do I do to do this? I have been using H624 but am not sure what setting should be used for backup.

You can go to File>Export>Export Quicktime Movie. If you leave the "make Movie Self-contained" box checked it will create a large quicktime movie at the same resolution as your sequence. Unchecking the box will result in a a faster export with a smaller resulting file, but the file is only a referernce movie--you must keep all of your source footage (render files and capture scratch) in the same location relative to the outputted .mov. The h.264 format is a lossy encoding. It looks stellar for the filesize, but it's not a digital duplicate!
