From DV, to Offline-RT, back to DV
Okay, so I just got a new 12 inch iBook to go with my G4 tower, and I'm now looking into using Offline-RT. I know I can take DV footage and compress it into offline-RT, but once i've edited it in RT, can I somehow take that sequence and move it back to my main computer and tell it "Use these DV files instead of the RT ones", instead of recapturing the entire project off of DV tapes, since the original files are already on my main HD/
I may get a portable hard drive so I don't have to worry about recompressing every time I make a change, but I was wondering if this was possible. |

Yup, absolutely possible. When you go to take the project back to your big machine, just make sure the Offline RT ftg is offline. Make sure your sequence settings are set to DV/DVCPro and then reconnect to the original DV ftg. Instant Online (well, almost instant). I'm doing an HD project the exact same way only using DV 23.98 as my offline.
Cheers
