Realtime Downconvert of HDV/ProRes Timeline For External Monitor Viewing?
i'm running FCP6 on a dual 2.3 PowerMac G5 (M9591LL/A). i'm way behind the ball, but i recently read that FCP6 can downconvert a HDV timeline to SD in realtime for external viewing on a SD monitor. i have a Sony HVR-M10U deck and a Sony Z1U camera...but i can't figure out how to do this?
when i'm working with HDV footage (in a ProRes timeline), i go to Audio/Video Settings, AV Devices...then i don't have any options. everything is grayed out...even when the deck or the camera communication checks out. so how is this possible? |

...i guess i'm one of those dudes that posts a question and then finds out the answer a few minutes later. the deck or camera has to be in DV mode (not HDV mode). ahh...
