FCP4.0 Can't output to video
Help! My FCP4 won't allow me to output what's on the timeline directly to my DV camera. I have a finished product on the timeline, but I am not able to transfer it to tape. If I export it to my harddrive as a FCP movie, can I reimport it to FCP after I reinstall FCP4? Has any of you ever encountered this problem after upgrading to OSX Tiger?
Thank you all for your time |

Not sure what menu this is to go to with ver4.5 but 5.0 is View>External Video>All Frames. Then making sure to double check in "Video Playback" and "audio Playback" that the right setting for your camera is there...usually "Apple Firewire NTSC" (for me).
Actually when I was trying to output to miniDV last week, I could not get it to work. I have a Sony VX2100. I had to turn OFF the setting in the camera's Menu for "AV~DV Out". Then it was fine. Not sure if this helps, just a suggestion to try if you have this option. |

FCP 4 + Tiger = trouble. It could just be something simple, but a lot of people have had the problems you describe after upgrading to Tiger. It's always a good idea to read the forums before upgrading operating systems or Quicktime. See the following:
http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=46030 If this doesn't help you may want to visit Apple's tech support forum for FCP here: http://discussions.info.apple.com/we...2u5.1@.ee6bcd7 Yes you should be able to File > Export > Quicktime Movie and use the current settings to save your finished movie. |
