Trying to hookup computer to edit on TV..

Right now I have computer firewire to camera and audio/video cable from camera to TV (yellow-red-white) and nothing. What am I doing wrong or what can I do to get it working.

Thanks

Bob

I assume you're using FCP? Go to the Final Cut Pro menu and choose Audio/Video settings. Choose Firewire for Video Playback (and Audio if that's what you want). Then go to View > All Frames.

This assumes FCP 4.5, not sure if it's different in FCP 5. Be aware that there are some playback issues with FCP 4.5 if you're using Tiger and/or Quicktime 7.

Try toggling " A/V --> DV out " on your camera if the other suggestions don't work.

What version of FCP, what version of MacOS and what version of Quicktime are you using? If running FCP4.x with either Tiger or QT7 you may be running into a bug/conflict. See this thread:

You don't say what camera you are using. Many of the early DV cameras didn't support DV in to analog out conversion.
