Upgrade question
Hello,
My 7 year old Powermac G4 has stopped working, it won't start at all, the only thing that works right now is the light in the power button, won't go beyond that. I'm replacing it either with an i7 iMac or a 8 core Mac Pro. I had Final Cut Pro 4 installed in my old machine, and I noticed in the apple store page that you can get a great discount for upgrading from an older version. So my question is: can I have this discount on the upgrade from a version this old? Is there any problem that I'm located in Ecuador? Can I buy online? There's a mac store here, but I highly doubt they sell Final Cut Studio (it's a reseller that won't even have custom setups for the macs), I still have to call the store. Thanks in advance. |

Call the store - most stores either have it in stock or can get it.
You can buy online at the Apple store if they will deliver to you - but it's not a download product - you get lots of physical DVDs.

Check the clock battery in your old Mac. Some Macs won't boot if the clock battery is dead.
