Vexed with the Nest!
Hi , I 've been using Final Cut since December, but my most challenging bit is the nesting. I normally edit various sequences all from one camera ( normally at 25 frames) and import motion templates etc . Problem is when i want to make a dvd sequence. invariably i get the dreaded you cant nest sequences with different time bases when i try to add the sequence that has the motion template. what is the work round for this? i have tried to copy and paste the offending clip into the 25 frames sequence but that just moves things out of sync and is not worth the trouble. i find this cumbersome and irritating. i thought buying FCP meant smoother intergration within the programs but its even more clumsy that pinnacle

I have this problem when bringing PAL sequences into NTSC sequences or 24p into 30p. The problem is that the differing time bases screw things up. Best to make QuickTime movies on each sequence and import those.
