Never opening an MOV with FCP
Hey all,
I never ever, for any reason want my OS to open FCP when I double click on an MOV file... I always want it to open in Quicktime. I've done what I feel I need to to accomplish this "Open with..." "Always use this application" --- but my OS persists in taking what it considers to be a "Final Cut Pro Movie File" and opening FCP when I double click it, even though it's an MOV. Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance. |

This worked for me in Snow Leopard:
Select a Quicktime .mov file in the finder. Then select: COMMAND-I or choose CHOOSE GET INFO drop down the the arrow CHANGE OPEN WITH to Quicktime 7 (by default it now lives in Applications > Utilities, so choose "Other" if it doesn't show up by default in the list) CLICK CHANGE ALL button. Voila - all your .mov are now re-associated with QT7 |
