USB 3.0 or eSata suitable as external drive?

Hi,

Hi, again a question from me. Google and Search did not help.

Do you guys think, USB3 or eSata can replace the FireWire external drive, which carries captured footage?
I mean, fps drops, choppiness, slow response time etc do they persist?

I am asking this, because I might need a new mainboard for my hackintosh.

Edit: Ok, one reply helped a little
